[新！]丝绒左轮Velvet Revolver - Libertad[2007][更新链接]

这是一张期待了好久的专辑，由于他们的上一张专辑Controband给我带来了太多的惊喜，所以一直期待他们能超越以往的成就，但现在是总是残酷的。专辑听了两遍，有些小失望，slash的solo依然华丽，但做的太过流行化了，其实我觉得像他们这么一帮有才华的人，其实可以做出一些更具突破性的作品。我已不期望他们能重塑当年枪花的风格与辉煌，毕竟，时代不同，就算把当年的枪花搬来也不一定能获得很大的成功，因为每个时代都有它特定的产物，就像现在的hip-hop风靡全球一样。但也大可不必拿出这么功利的一张作品，也许是为了迎合市场的需要，毕竟美国是个看重功利和商业成就的国度。
不过总的来说专辑的水准还是相当高的，可听性极强，还有些朋克的影子。可能是偶得要求太苛刻了，大家听听看，呵呵

In December 2006, Velvet Revolver began working with producer Brendan O'Brien, who had previously produced albums for Stone Temple Pilots. As Scott Weiland commented in Kerrang! magazine, "We were really excited about six months ago, when we first began writing. Then we really kind of flat-lined for a while, We didn't know which way we were going. Once Brendan (O'Brien) came on board, it was kind of like a shot in the arm. It was a new energy." Recording began on December 11 and continued through December, January, and February. The process was documented by a series of video blogs, or "Vlogs", available on the band's website.
As cover art, the album will feature a stylized 10 pesos coin used during Pinochet's regime in Chile. [1]
On May 10, 2007, the SonyBMG Poland website revealed the official track list of "Libertad." "Libertad" will be released in two formats: 1) a CD version which will include a video documentary on the making of "Libertad", and 2) a CD/DVD version which will include a bonus DVD w/ a 30 minute documentary on the recent VR tour in South America. 
On June 23, 2007, Libertad was leaked in its entirety through various file sharing websites

Velvet Revolver乐队是著名的枪炮玫瑰乐队(Guns N' Roses)的原始成员们在新世纪的延伸。从1996年开始，曾经是全世界最受欢迎的硬摇滚乐队枪炮玫瑰乐队就开始进入了崩溃的境地，当年，Slash发表声明宣布离队，乐队未来的音乐发展道路的分歧成为了他和Axl Rose直接闹翻的原因，1997年初，枪炮玫瑰乐队鼎盛时期的最后一名成员Duff "Rose" McKagan也离开了Axl Rose的枪炮玫瑰乐队，而此前乐队鼓手Matt Sorum也已经跟随Slash，Duff McKagan离开了乐队，而早在1991年底，枪炮玫瑰乐队的创作基石Izzy Stradlin就已经离开了乐队。
　　独自一人持有了枪炮玫瑰乐队商标权的Axl Rose开始集结自己的人马重组了枪炮玫瑰乐队，并且将乐队原有的以布鲁斯摇滚乐为基础的硬摇滚风格转向为工业金属风格。而已经离队的Slash，Izzy Stradlin，Duff McKagan，Matt Sorum等人却被迫开始自己的音乐发展。此后的多年时间里，Slash在自己的Slash's Snakepit乐队中继续着自己的音乐，Izzy Stradlin开始自己的个人音乐发展，Duff McKagan则继续着漂泊，Matt Sorum除了经常参与Slash，Izzy Stradlin等人的工作外还回到了自己从前所效力的The Cult乐队。
　　进入新世纪之后，当媒体和世界各地的歌迷把关注的焦点都放在了Axl Rose重组的枪炮玫瑰乐队那号称即将发行的新专辑《Chinese Democracy》上的时候，其余的几名前枪炮玫瑰乐队鼎盛时期的乐队成员又悄悄的走在了一起。2002年，Slash，Duff McKagan和Matt Sorum为了Izzy Stradlin的新专辑《River》的制作重新回到了同一间录音室里，实际上，他们在过去的几年里虽然一直没有正式在一起组队，但却时常在一起工作，每当有以前的乐队队友需要专辑制作的时候，他们总是经常相互帮忙。但是2002年夏天的这次不同，这一次，他们的重聚被认为是Velvet Revolver乐队组建的起点。
　　当Slash，Duff McKagan，Matt Sorum与Izzy Stradlin一起工作的时候，近十年不曾有过的化学反应重新发生，四名天才的成员们决定重新在一起展开工作。在2002年，四名乐队成员以“The Project”的名字参与了由奥斯卡影后查理兹·塞隆(Charlize Theron)主演的经典翻拍影片《意大利任务》(The Italian Job)电影原声的录制，他们翻唱了Pink Floyd乐队的单曲《Money》，当时他们以Stone Temple Pilots乐队的主唱Scott Weiland作为乐队的主唱。在这次公开亮相之后，这群枪炮玫瑰乐队原始成员们的复合立即成为了世界各大娱乐媒体的头条，不过此时不愿抛头露面的Izzy Stradlin又再一次离开了“The Project”，尽管他依然频繁的参与乐队的事务。2003年伊始，“The Project”的三名正式成员开始在各大媒体上公开宣布招聘主唱，一时间，这批枪炮玫瑰乐队的成员们又再次成为了音乐界的焦点，包括前Skid Row乐队的主唱Sebastian Bach在内的众多演唱好手都前去应聘，但是最终，“The Project”乐队的成员们再次选择了麻烦不断的Stone Temple Pilots乐队的主唱Scott Weiland作为乐队的主唱人选，此前他刚刚因为车上发现了毒品而往来于警察局和法院。在确定Scott Weiland作为乐队主唱之后，前Wasted Youth乐队的吉他手Dave Kushner也被选为“The Project”乐队的第二吉他手，每一次“The Project”乐队的人员遴选，Izzy Stradlin都参加了。
　　人员固定下来之后的“The Project”乐队开始了正式的工作，他们首先为著名中国导演李安的动画巨著《绿巨人》(The Hulk)的原声贡献了第一首原创单曲《Set Me Free》。2003年6月，“The Project”乐队正式更名为Velvet Revolver乐队，并且在不久之后就正式签约RCA唱片公司。同时Velvet Revolver乐队的主唱Scott Weiland在经历了藏毒官司之后也渐渐获得了自由，Velvet Revolver乐队的成员们正式开始了他们新专辑的录制。
　　当RCA唱片公司正式宣布Velvet Revolver乐队的首张专辑《Contraband》将在2004年4月发行的时候，全世界娱乐媒体的焦点全都放在了Slash，Duff McKagan，Matt Sorum这三名前枪炮玫瑰乐队的成员身上，毫无疑问，他们三个人，特别是Slash和Duff McKagan才是乐队真正的主宰者，不过随后由于枪炮玫瑰乐队所在的Geffen唱片公司执意在3月底单方面发行枪炮玫瑰乐队的精选辑《Greatest Hits》，因而Slash和Duff McKagan以及Axl Rose一起展开了诉讼希望阻止这张精选的发行，不过他们最终失败了，在这张精选辑在3月23日发行之后，Velvet Revolver乐队的首张专辑《Contraband》也开始一次次的后延，现实决定推迟到五月发行，最终又推迟到了6月8日。
　　尽管专辑发行的时间一推再推，但是全世界的歌迷们早已经急不可待的期待这张专辑了，毕竟枪炮玫瑰乐队已经长达十年的时间没有推出过新专辑了，而Axl Rose的枪炮玫瑰乐队的新专辑《Chinese Democracy》也遥遥无期，而这支由三名前枪炮玫瑰乐队鼎盛时期成员组成并且由另一名前枪炮玫瑰乐队核心参与的乐队的作品无疑是与枪炮玫瑰乐队的号召力等价的。他们的支持注定了这张专辑将会是一张商业成绩不俗的作品。
　　不久之后，单曲《Slither》作为首支打榜单曲，很快在现代摇滚单曲榜上成为了冠军，为专辑的发行奠定了基础。2004年6月8日，Velvet Revolver乐队的首张专辑《Contraband》终于正式发行，并且在发行首周立即成为了Billboard 200排行榜的冠军，这是继1991年9月枪炮玫瑰乐队的两张专辑《运用你的幻想I》(Use Your Illusion I)和《运用你的幻想II》(Use Your Illusion II)发行之后，13年以来，枪炮玫瑰乐队的成员的作品首次成为排行榜的冠军。Velvet Revolver乐队的三名前枪炮玫瑰乐队成员，把枪炮玫瑰乐队曾经伟大的音乐继续向前延伸。(转)
